Planning a last fling before the ring? Look no further than Miami. With its fun-filled beaches, warm weather, beautiful people watching and renowned nightlife, Miami has a little something for every type of bride or groom. Hotels range from the affordable to the over-the-top, and as an international location, it’s usually easy to get flights to from any part of the country. If you want to plan a bachelor or bachelorette party in Miami and don’t know where to start, read below for tips and tricks on how to make it the best one yet.
Miami is huge, so where you stay will determine what you do. If you want the classic Miami Beach experience, try mega hotels like 1 Hotel South Beach, Fontainebleau Miami Beach or the Loews Miami Beach Hotel. For something a little more affordable, try the beach’s Art Deco spots, like the Vintro Hotel, Circa 39 or the Gale Hotel.
If you want to stay on mainland Miami, the best place to be is Downtown Miami or Brickell Avenue. Options like the brand new W Miami, The Langford Hotel, Mandarin Oriental, Miami or The Conrad are some of the area’s larger hotels, and all are in walking distance from trendy bars and restaurants, are near the water, and have plenty to do on property: like spas, pools, popular restaurants and more.
What to Do
In Miami, there is no shortage of ways to keep a bachelor or bachelorette party entertained.
Ladies, if you want to pamper your bride, head to one of Miami’s many haute hotel spas, like Lapis Spa at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, The Spa at Conrad Miami or the new Tierra Santa Healing House at Faena Hotel Miami Beach. Looking for a good time? Party poolside at Hyde Beach, the Delano South Beach, The Mondrian or The National Hotel, the longest infinity pool in South Florida. For more active brides-to-be, take a heart-pumping class at the all-girls IronFlower Fitness, learn how to pole dance at Milan Pole Dance Studio, dance it out with a Vixen workout class, or head to The Confidante, on Collins Avenue, and hop in the pool for an in-water cycling AquaCycle class. Of course, for most brides, shopping is always a good idea, so spend your day browsing the designer shops at Sawgrass Mall, Merrick Place or Lincoln Road Mall. The latter is lined with outdoor cafes, which are also a great place to grab a drink and get some of the best people watching in town.
For bachelors, go alligator wrestling in the Everglades, deep-sea fishing, scuba diving or snorkeling in Islamorada, or paddleboard at Oleta River State Park. If that’s not what you want, join the masses and hit the pool party scene. The Clevelander and Wet Willies, both on famed Ocean Drive, are classic Miami daytime hotspots, and the Broken Shaker, in Miami Beach, mixes cool people with some of the tastiest cocktails in town.
Where to Eat
With all that drinking and fun in the sun, you’ll need to make time for food. If you’re on the beach, there are plenty of places right along Ocean Drive where your group can grab a light bite and an oversized margarita. For fun, girly group dinners, Juvia on Lincoln Road is always a good option. If your bachelor wants to kick-off a night out with a big dinner, get stone crabs at Joe’s Stone Crab, eat the best steak of your life at Red, The Steakhouse, try tantalizing French Mediterranean dishes prepared with an Italian twist at Villa Azur Restaurant & Lounge, or opt for Italian at Scarpetta. All promise a sexy scene, in trendy Miami, with delicious, renowned cuisine.
From happy hours and lounges, to packed nightclubs where you can dance the night away, nightlife in Miami is always a good time.
If you’re Downtown or on Brickell, start with happy hour at Pawn Broker, Area 31, Fado Irish Pub and Restaurant or Dolores But Call Me Lolita. If the lounge scene is what your group is looking for, Komodo, El Tucan and SUGAR, at Brickell's EAST, are great places to sip handcrafted cocktails, mingle with Miami’s finest, and vibe to good music as you spend time with your group.
Want to dress to impress and dance? Look no further than Miami Beach. With start-studded clubs like WALL, STORY, Mynt, Baoli and LIV, grab your bride or groom, call an Uber and get ready to party the night away like only Miami can.
