Opa Locka

Estilo del renacimiento árabe

El estilo del renacimiento árabe se plasma en el área de Opa-Locka.

Bordering both Hialeah and Miami Lakes, Opa-locka holds the distinction of having the largest collection of Moorish Revival architecture in the Western Hemisphere, including a City Hall complete with minarets and elaborately painted domes.

The city was conceived in 1926 by aviation pioneer Glenn Curtiss. Opa-locka also has its own airport, which is used today for private planes, and the Opa-locka Hialeah Flea Market which is open 365 days a year and sees more than 100,000 visitors per week.
